Welcome to the Independent School Health Association

The Independent School Health Association (ISHA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting good health and to enhancing the quality of life for students, faculty, and staff on independent school campuses. Good health is defined as the state of well-being arising out of the harmonious integration of an individual's physical, psychological, intellectual, social, and spiritual strengths.

ISHA fulfills its mission through biannual conferences, specialized workshops, and its newsletter. The organization is led by a volunteer council of individuals from member schools and represents physicians, nurses, counselors, athletic trainers, health educators, and school administrators.

ISHA SPRING CONFERENCE

PHILLIPS EXETER ACADEMY, EXETER, NH

THE VIEW FROM MARS:  WHERE DOES THIS SEXUALIZED CULTURE LEAVE TODAY’S YOUTH?

At our Fall Conference, we began a discussion about the casual nature of sexual relationships among adolescents.  During that conference the focus was primarily on young women, their choices, and the repercussions of those choices.  This spring, we hope to continue the conversation by considering the male perspective and how their behavior and decisions in relationships affect them now and in the future.

Michael Thompson, our morning keynote speaker, will share his thoughts on the world of the adolescent male and how he navigates through the sexualized social scene of today's youth.

As more details become available, you will be notified via email (members only) or by visiting our website at www.ishanet.org.
